Chapter 1
The Call c1s1_the_call
Who's here: Chief Tanaka, Dylan Reeves.
Detective Aloha: Aloha.
Chief Tanaka: Aloha, detective, it's Tanaka. Don't hang up.
Detective Aloha: Chief, I'm on vaca—
Chief Tanaka: I know you're on vacation. Enjoying the waves. Holding a drink with an umbrella in it.
Chief Tanaka: Look. I'm sorry. After Mink retired you're my go-to.
Chief Tanaka: The mayor's son is missing.
Chief Tanaka: Dylan Reeves. 24. Disappeared Tuesday night — 48 hours ago now. Was supposed to show at a charity gala Wednesday, never turned up. Kid doesn't even have a car — eleven roommates, no parking. Phone's been off since Tuesday.
Chief Tanaka: The mayor is calling me every two hours, Aloha. Every. Two. Hours. The press is sniffing around. I've got half the department on this and we've got nothing.
Chief Tanaka: Kid lives in some kind of tech mansion in Pac Heights. Eleven roommates. Eleven. It's like a frat house but everyone has a podcast.
Chief Tanaka: Half of them have been off the grid since a warehouse rave Tuesday night — phones to voicemail. The other half are at the house. Jones has been interviewing them all morning.
Chief Tanaka: She's good, Aloha. You know that. But these kids aren't criminals. They're not scared of her. One of them tried to get her to invest in his startup.
Chief Tanaka: So what do you say?
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "... I just got this mai tai, Chief."
- [probe] "Tell me about the roommates."
- [probe] "You've got the whole department. Why me?"
Chief Tanaka: I will fly to Maui and personally knock that drink out of your hand, Aloha.
Chief Tanaka: Because Jones spent three hours interviewing these roommates and came back with nothing but a headache and a pitch deck for something called 'SnackChain.' These people need your kind of weird.
Chief Tanaka: Six of them. Startup guy, streamer, wellness guru, trust-fund kid, programmer, event planner. Every one stranger than the last.
Chief Tanaka: Jones's full notes are in the case file. Names, details, everything. Read them between mai tais.
Chief Tanaka: Look. I wouldn't be calling you in Maui if I had another option. These kids won't talk straight to a badge. But you... you've got a way with weird people.
Detective Aloha: ... Fine. But I'm doing this from the beach.
Chief Tanaka: I'll patch you through to Jones. SFPD Homicide, on scene since six this morning. She's not thrilled I called you in, so… make it work. Photos, witnesses, real-time. She's your eyes on the ground.
Narration: You take a long sip of your mai tai. Your vacation is officially over.
Detective Jones c1s2_jones_intro
Who's here: Detective Jones. How to unlock: after you finish The Call.
Detective Jones: Tanaka told me he's bringing you in. I've been at this house since 6am.
Detective Jones: I've already interviewed all six. Got nothing useful. One of them pitched me a startup.
Detective Jones: Couple things from my walk-through.
Detective Jones: The wellness guy — Bodhi — has a fresh bruise on his forehead he won't explain straight.
Detective Jones: The streamer has a 40-minute gap in his VOD that night.
Detective Jones: The event planner has a spreadsheet of everyone's movements she handed me unprompted.
Detective Jones: Make of that what you will.
Detective Jones: I'll send you each of them one at a time. Don't make me regret this.
Detective Jones: Any questions before I patch the first one through?
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "What's the vibe at the house?"
- [probe] "Who's first?"
- [rapport] "For what it's worth, I didn't ask for this either."
- [deduction] "This has to be foul play. One of them did something to Dylan." · WRONG — drains 10% battery
Detective Jones: You've been on the case for ten minutes. Don't do that. I've talked to all six of these people. None of them could organize a foul play. Trust me.
Detective Jones: Weird. Nobody seems worried about Dylan. They're more concerned about the lease ending and who's going to cover his share of the groceries. It's a twelve-person tech house in Pac Heights. Make of that what you will.
Detective Jones: Straight to business. Fine by me.
Detective Jones: Sure. Just get something I didn't.
Detective Jones: First up: Bexley Chutney the Third. Yes, that's his real name. Good luck.
The CEO c1s3_bexley
Who's here: Bexley Chutney III. How to unlock: after you finish Detective Jones.
Narration: A confident voice picks up. You can practically hear the puffer vest.
Bexley Chutney III: Bexley Chutney, third of my name, CEO and founder of SnackChain. Well — former CEO. We're in a transitional sunset phase. How can I optimize this interaction?
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Tell me about the last time you saw Dylan."
- [probe] "What's SnackChain?"
- [probe] "Tell me about the house. Who lives there?"
Bexley Chutney III: SnackChain was a next-gen productivity synergy platform. We were pre-revenue but post-vision, if you know what I mean. Then Omnithought dropped their all-in-one suite and our entire market thesis evaporated overnight. Classic disruption event.
Bexley Chutney III: Last point of contact with Dylan was... two days ago? He was in the kitchen making one of those smoothies. Green stuff. Didn't seem distressed. Seemed very much on-brand for Dylan.
Bexley Chutney III: The house is a co-living accelerator environment. Twelve residents across two verticals. My team — SnackChain — and the Yeetly crew.
Clue unlocked: SnackChain, Yeetly
Bexley Chutney III: Three weeks ago Omnithought released their all-in-one suite and our market thesis evaporated overnight. Classic disruption event. Both companies are winding down. We're scrambling to interview for new jobs, but the lease runs another month.
Clue unlocked: Two Startups, One House
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "So there's two groups in the house?"
- [probe] "Who was Dylan closest to?"
- [probe] "Notice anything unusual lately?"
- [deduction] "You were jealous Dylan was drifting to the other side. You did something to him." · WRONG — drains 10% battery
Bexley Chutney III: Whoa. Whoa. That is deeply not the vibe. I don't do conflict, detective — I do offsites. I'm going to pretend you didn't just aggressively pivot this conversation. Whitford Paine would not be pleased.
Bexley Chutney III: I wouldn't say 'sides.' I'd say... two distinct talent pools sharing infrastructure.
Bexley Chutney III: But yeah, the Yeetly guys are the ones at the rave right now. They've always been more brand-forward. My team tends to be more... operationally focused.
Bexley Chutney III: People mostly stick to their own vertical. Polite head-nods in the kitchen, but otherwise siloed. Dylan's been the exception lately, crossing the aisle.
Clue unlocked: House Cliques
Bexley Chutney III: Dylan is on the SnackChain side. Good guy, solid contributor, friendly with everyone on the team. But lately he's had a particular wingman from outside our vertical.
Clue unlocked: House Cliques
Bexley Chutney III: Define unusual. In this house, unusual is baseline. But if you're asking about Dylan specifically... he's been doing a lot of off-campus activities lately.
Bexley Chutney III: Coming home late, sometimes not at all. Schedule's been hard to read. And not always with our crew.
Clue unlocked: House Cliques
Bexley Chutney III: Look, Dylan and Kyle hanging out isn't a scandal. It's just... not the usual org chart.
Bexley Chutney III: Those two are from different verticals and suddenly they're like co-founders of some burrito review thing. Going all over the city together. Everyone kind of raised an eyebrow but nobody said anything. It's a free market.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Tell me more about Kyle."
- [probe] "Anything else you think I should know?"
Bexley Chutney III: Kyle Green. Yeetly side. Bit of a wildcard — tattoo, earring, drives a sports car. Sticks out, even on their side of the house.
Bexley Chutney III: He's supposed to be at the rave with the rest of his crew. I don't have a lot of data points on him, honestly.
Bexley Chutney III: Look, I hope Dylan's okay. He's a good asset to the house. If there's anything else I can do to support this due diligence process, my door is always open. Metaphorically. It's actually a shared bathroom situation.
Narration: The line goes quiet. You stare at your mai tai, questioning several life choices.
Narration: You dial Bexley back. He picks up on the second ring.
Bexley Chutney III: Detective. Full circle. What can I clarify for your process?
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Bodhi overheard Dylan and Kyle talking about hiking. Does that track?" · requires Overheard Hiking Plans
- [rapport] "Actually, never mind."
Bexley Chutney III: Hiking? Huh. Dylan didn't hike. That's a Kyle activity — Kyle goes up to his parents' place in Marin every weekend.
Clue unlocked: Kyle's Background
Bexley Chutney III: Takes the sports car. If they were going together, that's the destination. It's off Panoramic Highway, woodsy, basically no cell coverage.
Bexley Chutney III: Let me know if there's anything else. I have full bandwidth for this.
Clues from this scene: SnackChain, Yeetly, Two Startups, One House, House Cliques.
The Heir c1s4_preston
Who's here: Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn. How to unlock: after you finish The CEO.
Narration: The phone picks up on the first ring. The voice on the other end sounds like it was educated at a school with Latin on the crest.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn. I've been expecting someone to call back.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: The officers who came by earlier were... thorough, I suppose, but I'm not sure they fully grasped the situation. My family's counsel, Whitford Paine, advised me to cooperate fully, so here I am.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "How do you know Dylan?"
- [probe] "You seem pretty calm for someone whose friend is missing."
- [probe] "Walk me through the night Dylan disappeared."
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Dylan and I go back to Covington Prep. Connecticut. We were fourteen.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: I've known him longer than anyone else in this house, which is why this whole situation is particularly distressing.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Calm? I am anything but calm, detective. I've barely slept.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Do you know what it's like to lie awake wondering where your closest friend is, while also knowing that his share of the lease payment is due in twelve days? It's a dual crisis.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: I was in my room that evening. Reading. I heard movement in the house around 8, but that's not unusual — people come and go. I didn't see Dylan leave.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: I only realized he was gone the next morning when he missed the house breakfast I'd organized. Which, by the way, I'd specifically made eggs Florentine.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "How has Dylan been acting lately?"
- [probe] "What do you think of Kyle Green?"
- [probe] "Tell me about the dynamics in the house."
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Honestly? Dylan's been... different. Distant. He's always been very much part of our side of the house — dinners, movie nights, the sort of things civilized people do.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: But the last few weeks he's been going out constantly. Coming home late or not at all. It's been noticeable.
Clue unlocked: Dylan Pulling Away
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Kyle Green. Well. How do I put this diplomatically? He's... not from our world.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Tattoo on his neck. Earring. Drives a sports car, which I think says everything you need to know. He's on the Yeetly side of the house. His family's from Marin, I believe.
Clue unlocked: Kyle's Background
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: There are two sides to this house. The SnackChain team — my side, Dylan's side — and the Yeetly crowd.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: We coexist. But socially, there's always been a line. Not hostile, just... different circles. Different calibers, if I'm being frank.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: And then Dylan started spending all his time with Kyle. Going around the city doing this... burrito thing.
Clue unlocked: Dylan Pulling Away
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Look, I don't want to point fingers, but when someone starts acting differently, you look at who they're spending time with. And Kyle is... well. Whitford Paine would tell me not to say anything further on that.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "You said Kyle's family is from Marin?"
- [rapport] "Sounds like you're a little jealous, Preston."
- [probe] "Anything else you think is relevant?"
- [deduction] "You couldn't stand losing Dylan to Kyle. You did something about it." · WRONG — drains 10% battery
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: I beg your pardon? Detective, that is — that is defamatory and frankly beneath the dignity of your office.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: I am ending this call the moment Whitford Paine tells me to. Which may be now. Let me step out of the room.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Yes. His parents have a place up there. One of those woodsy hillside things.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Kyle goes up there sometimes on weekends. Drives his sports car up. I've never been, obviously. I don't even think he's invited anyone from the house.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Jealous? That's — no. That's not what this is. Dylan and I have a history that predates this house by a decade.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: I'm simply observing that his behavior changed when a certain influence entered the picture. That's not jealousy. That's pattern recognition. Whitford Paine would agree.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: I want Dylan found, detective. He's my oldest friend. Despite everything, I genuinely care about his wellbeing.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: And also he co-signed the lease on this house. So there's that.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Please keep me updated. Whitford Paine is available if you need to go through counsel.
Narration: The call ends with a crisp 'Good day.' You wonder if you've ever met anyone who mentions their lawyer more than their missing friend.
Narration: Preston picks up on the first ring, as before.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Detective. I trust Whitford Paine is aware of this second call. Proceed.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Dylan and Kyle have been on a 'best burrito' quest for weeks. Did you know?" · requires The Burrito Quest
- [rapport] "Thanks, that's all."
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Burritos. That explains the plastic bags in the recycling. I thought Dylan was — never mind.
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Look, if Dylan's committed to a hobby with Kyle for three weeks running, that's not a phase. That's Dylan making a decision. And Dylan doesn't make decisions lightly. He probably told Kyle things he didn't tell me.
Clue unlocked: Dylan Pulling Away
Preston Fairfax-Llewellyn: Find him, detective. And regards to whoever put you on this.
Clues from this scene: Kyle's Background, Dylan Pulling Away.
The Wellness Architect c1s5_bodhi
Who's here: Bodhi Wavelength. How to unlock: after you finish The Heir.
Narration: The phone picks up. There's a long exhale, like someone just finished a breathing exercise. Or possibly surfaced from underwater.
Bodhi Wavelength: This is Bodhi. I'm here, but also everywhere. How can I hold space for this conversation?
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "I'm calling about Dylan. When did you last see him?"
- [probe] "Are you worried about Dylan being missing?"
- [probe] "Tell me about the night Dylan disappeared."
Bodhi Wavelength: Dylan. Yes. I saw him that evening. He was in the kitchen. His energy was... transitional. Like a river deciding which way to fork.
Bodhi Wavelength: I was making kombucha at the time. Second fermentation — that's when you add the ginger.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "What do you mean his energy was 'transitional'?"
- [probe] "Did anything else happen that night?"
- [probe] "Jones said you have a bruise on your forehead."
- [deduction] "That bruise on your head — you got it fighting Dylan, didn't you?" · WRONG — drains 10% battery
Bodhi Wavelength: He was on the verge of a directional shift. People give off that hum before they make a move.
Bodhi Wavelength: I didn't lean in — I was reading the kombucha pH. In retrospect, the kombucha was fine and Dylan was the one fermenting.
Bodhi Wavelength: Something. The house carried a different texture between midnight and dawn. Like it had inhaled and forgotten to exhale.
Bodhi Wavelength: I wasn't entirely present for it — my body wandered. I sleepwalk, detective. The journey reveals itself in pieces. Some pieces are still surfacing.
Bodhi Wavelength: Detective. Breathe. The bruise is from the refrigerator door. A door is not a person.
Bodhi Wavelength: Violence doesn't reside in my frequency — I haven't even eaten nightshades in two years. You're projecting a narrative onto a wellness practitioner and that feels extremely un-grounded.
Bodhi Wavelength: Worried? No. Dylan didn't disappear, detective. He just... isn't ready to be found yet. The universe doesn't lose people. It relocates them. I felt a shift in the house's energy that night. A departure. Not violent. Just... movement.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "What do you mean you felt a 'shift'?"
- [probe] "How do you know it wasn't violent?"
- [probe] "Jones said you have a bruise on your forehead."
Bodhi Wavelength: The house has a frequency. Thirteen souls vibrating in a shared space. When one of them lifts off, you feel the chord lose a note. Around midnight the chord changed. I noted it and went back to my breathwork.
Bodhi Wavelength: Violence has a texture, detective. Sharp. Static. What I felt that night was the opposite — a soft exit. Like a door closing on its own weight, not slamming. Whoever left, left freely. That much I trust.
Bodhi Wavelength: That night. Yes. I did my ice bath at the usual time — 4am is when the veil is thinnest. But before that, something happened. I was... traveling.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Traveling? Where did you go?"
- [probe] "What happened before the ice bath?"
- [probe] "Jones said you have a bruise on your forehead."
Bodhi Wavelength: Not physically. Well — also physically. I sleepwalk. My consciousness rests; my body takes itself for a walk. That night the route ended in the kitchen. The route generally ends in the kitchen.
Bodhi Wavelength: The hour before the bath is sacred. I lay still and let the day's residue settle. Around 11pm the residue was... louder than usual. I attributed it to the moon. I now think it was the house.
Bodhi Wavelength: Ah. Yes. I wear it with acceptance. I sleepwalked into the open refrigerator door at some point that night. The fridge giveth, and the fridge taketh away.
Clue unlocked: Bodhi's Bruise
Bodhi Wavelength: …wait. Detective. Hold on. The pieces are settling.
Choose:
- [rapport] "Take your time, Bodhi."
- [rapport] "I'm listening."
Bodhi Wavelength: Yes. Yes.
Bodhi Wavelength: While I was in the kitchen — sleepwalking, between worlds — I heard them.
Bodhi Wavelength: Dylan and someone else.
Bodhi Wavelength: They were talking about hiking.
Bodhi Wavelength: 'Tomorrow morning.'
Bodhi Wavelength: Trails.
Bodhi Wavelength: Driving somewhere.
Bodhi Wavelength: The other voice felt like Kyle.
Bodhi Wavelength: Grounded. Like basalt.
Bodhi Wavelength: I could be channeling. I could also be remembering. I trust that you'll know which.
Clue unlocked: Overheard Hiking Plans, Bodhi's Bruise
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Are you sure this wasn't just a dream?"
- [probe] "That's actually very helpful, Bodhi."
Bodhi Wavelength: What is a dream but a truth the waking mind isn't ready to accept?
Bodhi Wavelength: But also, the bruise is real. The fridge door was still open when I woke up. And there were two coffee mugs in the sink that weren't there before. So... draw your own conclusions.
Bodhi Wavelength: I'm not helpful, detective. I'm just present. The information flows through me. I'm simply the vessel.
Bodhi Wavelength: Also, I should tell you — the bruise is real, and there were two fresh coffee mugs in the sink the next morning.
Bodhi Wavelength: So my body was in the right place at the right time, even if my mind was elsewhere.
Bodhi Wavelength: I hope Dylan finds what he's looking for out there. Whatever current he's riding, I trust it. If you need me, I'll be in my ice bath. Namaste, detective.
Narration: The line disconnects. You hear a distant splash. You look at your mai tai with new respect.
Narration: The call connects again. Somewhere, ice cubes clink into a bath.
Bodhi Wavelength: You return to the channel. The universe is recursive, detective.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Hex saw a self-driving car outside the house around 8pm. Does that match your timeline?" · requires Self-Driving Car Pickup
- [rapport] "That's all for now."
Bodhi Wavelength: The eight o'clock departure. And then, three hours later, the kitchen. So: the house exhaled, and the house exhaled again. Two movements.
Clue unlocked: Overheard Hiking Plans
Bodhi Wavelength: If I may offer — the first person leaves, the second person returns. Or the second leaves too. But there were two.
Bodhi Wavelength: Stay hydrated, detective.
Clues from this scene: Overheard Hiking Plans, Bodhi's Bruise.
The Coder c1s6_hex
Who's here: Hex Montague. How to unlock: after you finish The Wellness Architect.
Narration: The phone rings nine times before someone picks up. There's a long pause, the sound of typing, and then:
Hex Montague: Yeah.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "This is Detective Aloha, SFPD. I'm calling about Dylan Reeves."
- [probe] "Is this Hex Montague?"
Hex Montague: We've had a few Dylans through here.
Hex Montague: Depends. Is this about the internet going down? Because that wasn't me this time.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Dylan. Your roommate. Brown hair, 24. The mayor's son."
- [probe] "Your roommate has been missing for 48 hours."
Hex Montague: Oh. The mayor one. Okay. What about him.
Hex Montague: Huh. I didn't notice. But I also haven't left my room since... what day is it?
Choose:
- [probe] "Did you see or hear anything unusual the night he disappeared?"
- [probe] "How well do you know Dylan?"
Hex Montague: I know he exists. Existed. Exists? I've seen him in the kitchen. He makes smoothies. That's most of my data on him.
Choose:
- [probe] "Did you see anything unusual the other night?"
- [probe] "What about the other roommates?"
Hex Montague: I know the shirtless one and the vest guy. And the loud one who streams. The rest are... there. I think there's twelve of them. Or thirteen. I've never counted.
Choose:
- [probe] "Think, Hex. Anything at all from that night."
Hex Montague: Actually. There was one thing. Headlights came through my curtains. Around 8 — maybe a bit before, I don't really know. It was annoying. I looked out the window.
Choose:
- [probe] "What did you see?"
- [probe] "What kind of car?"
Hex Montague: Self-driving car. Driveyo or one of those. No driver. Just sitting there in front of the house with the door open. Someone came out of the house and got in. Had a backpack. Then it drove off.
Clue unlocked: Self-Driving Car Pickup
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Could you see who got in the car?"
- [probe] "Which direction did it go?"
- [deduction] "You're covering for one of your roommates." · WRONG — drains 10% battery
Hex Montague: I don't know their names. How would I cover for them.
Hex Montague: No. It was dark. Just a shape with a backpack. Could've been anyone. I went back to my monitors after that.
Hex Montague: North, I think. I watched for maybe two seconds and then went back to what I was doing. I had a segfault that was way more interesting.
Hex Montague: Is that it? I have a build running.
Narration: The line goes dead without a goodbye. You make a mental note: self-driving car, 8pm, backpack, headed north. Hex has already forgotten the conversation happened.
Narration: The phone rings eleven times before Hex picks up.
Hex Montague: Yeah.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Kyle was supposed to be at the rave but never confirmed. Was his car still at the house that night?" · requires Kyle Never Confirmed at Rave
- [rapport] "Forget it."
Hex Montague: Sports car. Yeah. Saw it through the window when I looked out. Parked out front. Didn't move all night. The car I saw leave was a Driveyo. Different vehicle.
Clue unlocked: Kyle's Background
Hex Montague: Bye.
Clues from this scene: Self-Driving Car Pickup.
The Event Architect c1s7_pippa
Who's here: Pippa Orlando-Vance. How to unlock: after you finish The Wellness Architect.
Narration: The phone is answered before it finishes the first ring.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Pippa Orlando-Vance. I've been waiting for someone competent to call. I have a spreadsheet prepared. I'm sharing my screen — oh wait, this is a phone call.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Fine. I'll walk you through it verbally, but I want you to know this is a suboptimal format.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Tell me about this spreadsheet."
- [probe] "Let's start with the gala."
- [probe] "When did you last see Dylan?"
Pippa Orlando-Vance: I maintain a household logistics tracker. Color-coded. Everyone's whereabouts, planned activities, dietary needs, and emergency contacts.
Clue unlocked: Pippa's Spreadsheet
Pippa Orlando-Vance: The night Dylan disappeared, I cross-referenced everyone's stated plans against what actually happened. I had this ready within two hours. The officers who came by barely glanced at it.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: MY gala. The mayor's arts initiative fundraiser. Months of planning. Custom place cards. A string quartet I personally vetted.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Dylan was Table One — host's table, centerpiece position. He didn't show. Do you understand what that does to a seating chart? I had to improvise with a potted fern.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: I saw Dylan at approximately 6:15pm that evening. He was in the living room. I reminded him the car was coming at 7.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: He said 'cool, cool' in that way people say it when they are absolutely not going to be ready. It was the last time I saw him.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Walk me through who was where that night."
- [probe] "The six at the rave — are you sure they all went?"
- [probe] "Did anything in your data not add up?"
Pippa Orlando-Vance: SnackChain side: Bexley was in his room 'strategizing.' Zephyr was streaming. Bodhi was doing whatever Bodhi does. Preston was reading. Hex was in his cave. I was at the gala.
Clue unlocked: Pippa's Spreadsheet
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Yeetly side: all six were supposed to be at the Dogpatch warehouse rave. They RSVPed. But...
Pippa Orlando-Vance: All six Yeetly members RSVPed yes to the rave. I manage the house social calendar — don't judge me, someone has to — so I sent confirmation texts at 6pm. Five responded. One didn't.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Here's the thing nobody seems to care about except me. Kyle Green. Yeetly. He RSVPed to the rave, but he never responded to my confirmation text at 6pm. Read receipts are on. He never even opened it.
Clue unlocked: Kyle Never Confirmed at Rave
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Did you tell the other officers this?"
- [deduction] "So Kyle didn't go to the rave, and Dylan dropped off the grid the same night."
- [probe] "What's your read on Kyle?"
- [deduction] "A spreadsheet this detailed reads like someone building an alibi. Where were you really?" · WRONG — drains 10% battery
Pippa Orlando-Vance: I was at MY GALA, detective. I have three hundred and forty-seven photographs, a vendor invoice, and twelve witnesses in formal wear.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: If you want to waste your time auditing me instead of finding Dylan, I will happily send you the pivot table. But we are burning daylight.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: I told them. I showed them the spreadsheet. I even highlighted the relevant cells in red.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: The officer nodded, wrote something down, and then asked me if I knew what time the rave ended. The RAVE. I planned a GALA. These are not the same things.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Kyle is... disorganized. He's never once responded to a house poll on time. His room is a disaster zone.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: But he's not a bad person. He's just chaotic. The sports car, the tattoo — it's all very 'I don't follow rules.'
Pippa Orlando-Vance: But skipping a rave he RSVPed to AND going dark at the same time as Dylan? That's a data point, detective.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: I'm not a detective. But two people who've been inseparable for weeks both go off-grid on the same night, and one of them lied about where he was going?
Pippa Orlando-Vance: That's not a coincidence. That's a pattern. And I know patterns.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Can you send me that spreadsheet?"
- [probe] "Anything else?"
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Already sent. I emailed it to SFPD forty-five minutes after Dylan didn't show at my gala. Check your department's inbox. It's the one with the color coding and the pivot table. You're welcome.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Find Dylan, detective. And when you do, tell him he owes me a formal apology for the seating chart. In writing. I have a template he can use.
Narration: The phone is answered before it finishes the first ring.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Detective. What's the update? I've been refreshing my tracker.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Zephyr's stream had a 40-minute gap that night. Can you cross-check your timeline?" · requires 40-Minute Stream Gap
- [rapport] "Thanks, that's all."
Pippa Orlando-Vance: I have it. Zephyr was offline 7:58 to 8:38. Hex saw a Driveyo at approximately 8pm.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Two data points brace the window. If Kyle and Dylan left together around 8pm, Zephyr going offline at 7:58 misses them by seconds. That's when the house emptied out.
Clue unlocked: House Cliques
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Find them, detective. And please confirm my analysis in your report. With attribution.

The Streamer c1s8_zephyr
Who's here: Zephyr Klaxon. How to unlock: after you finish The Wellness Architect.
Narration: The call connects. There's a faint sound of a mechanical keyboard and what might be anime in the background.
Zephyr Klaxon: Yo, what up. Zephyr Klaxon here. Just so you know, I'm not streaming this. My chat would go absolutely feral if I streamed a police interrogation. Actually, hold on, that's kind of a banger idea—
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Please don't stream this."
- [probe] "When did you last see Dylan?"
- [probe] "Tell me about the night he disappeared."
Zephyr Klaxon: Fine, fine. Off the record. Well, off the stream. Whatever. What do you need, detective? I already talked to the other cops but they didn't really get the vibe, you know?
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "When did you last see Dylan?"
- [probe] "Tell me about the night he disappeared."
Zephyr Klaxon: Tuesday night, like 8pm. I saw him head out with his backpack. Seemed chill, normal Dylan energy. Didn't say where he was going. I was mid-stream so I just gave him a head nod.
Zephyr Klaxon: So Tuesday night I was streaming, right? Marathon session. I saw Dylan head out around 8. Backpack, normal vibe. Then I was just grinding content for the next few hours. Standard Tuesday.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "You were streaming all night? No interruptions?"
- [probe] "How has Dylan been acting lately?"
- [probe] "Did anyone else see him leave?"
Zephyr Klaxon: I mean... there was like a 40-minute thing where my internet cut out. It just happens sometimes. Broadband, am I right? It's not... it's not a thing. It's literally just an ISP diff.
Clue unlocked: 40-Minute Stream Gap
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Your internet cut out for exactly 40 minutes?"
- [probe] "Okay. Tell me about Dylan and Kyle."
- [deduction] "You cut the stream because you did something to Dylan." · WRONG — drains 10% battery
Zephyr Klaxon: WHAT. No! Oh my god, no. Detective, I scream when I see a spider. I once cried on stream because my chair broke.
Zephyr Klaxon: I'm not a killer, I'm a CONTENT creator. This is wildly off base. Chat would HATE this arc.
Zephyr Klaxon: ... Okay. Fine. Chat, if you're somehow watching this — I'm sorry.
Zephyr Klaxon: I went to the kitchen and ate a burrito that Dylan had in the fridge. It was from their quest. Burrithos. It was incredible.
Zephyr Klaxon: I feel terrible about it. But I didn't want my stream to see me eating someone else's food, so I killed the feed. That's the gap. That's the whole gap.
Zephyr Klaxon: Honestly? Dylan's been kind of off the grid socially. Not in a bad way.
Zephyr Klaxon: He's just been doing this thing with Kyle where they go eat burritos all over the city. Every day. No stream, no content, just two dudes and burritos.
Clue unlocked: The Burrito Quest
Zephyr Klaxon: It's actually kind of wholesome if you think about it. Also kind of insulting that they didn't invite me.
Zephyr Klaxon: I don't think so. Most of the Yeetly crew was already out. The SnackChain side was in their rooms.
Zephyr Klaxon: This house is big enough that you can go days without seeing someone. Hex literally didn't know Dylan was gone. That tracks.
Zephyr Klaxon: But real talk, Dylan and Kyle have this whole thing going. 'The Quest for the Golden Burrito' or whatever they call it. Every day for like three weeks, hitting a different spot.
Clue unlocked: The Burrito Quest
Zephyr Klaxon: Dylan has a whole spreadsheet ranking them. Flavor, tortilla integrity, salsa complexity. It's actually really detailed. No cap, I'm jealous.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "You said he had a backpack. Does he usually carry one?"
- [probe] "Anything else I should know?"
Zephyr Klaxon: I mean, yeah? Dylan always has a backpack. But this one looked more packed than usual. Like he was going somewhere for a minute.
Zephyr Klaxon: I didn't think about it at the time but... yeah. Kinda looked like an overnight bag situation now that you mention it.
Zephyr Klaxon: I hope he's okay, man. Dylan's a W human being. If you find him, tell him I'm sorry about the burrito. He'll know what that means. Actually, maybe don't tell him. Can we keep the burrito thing between us?
Narration: The line clicks off. In the background, you hear Zephyr immediately start streaming again. 'Chat, you will NOT believe what just happened—'
Narration: You dial Zephyr back. This time there's no anime in the background — just silence.
Zephyr Klaxon: Yo detective, back for round two? I'm off stream. This is a real conversation. Kind of scary, honestly.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Dylan and Kyle were overheard talking about hiking. Ring any bells?" · requires Overheard Hiking Plans
- [rapport] "That's all I needed."
Zephyr Klaxon: Hiking! Yeah, now that you say it — Dylan asked me like a week ago if I'd ever been to Mt. Tam. I was like 'the mountain?' and he was like 'yeah, with Kyle.'
Clue unlocked: The Burrito Quest
Zephyr Klaxon: I assumed he was being ironic. Dylan does irony. But maybe not? Maybe he was just asking about a mountain, like a normal person.
Zephyr Klaxon: Find him, detective. Chat's gonna love the reveal arc.

Chief Tanaka: Aloha. Your own witness put Kyle at the house, not the rave, and Dylan wasn't even on the list. You're telling me a story that contradicts the last two hours of your work. Try again.
Chief Tanaka: Aloha, the bruise is from a refrigerator. I am not getting a warrant on a refrigerator. You are in Maui. I am doing this on four hours of sleep. Try again.

Detective Aloha: Two friends, one weekend, and a very panicked mayor. They drove up. Hiking Mt. Tam off the back of the property.
Chief Tanaka: Okay. You've got a theory I'd sign off on. You make the call — I'm authorizing the welfare check.
Chief Tanaka: Marin PD will move when you ping them with the address. Don't sit on it.

Jones — Thanks c2s1_jones_thanks
Who's here: Detective Jones. How to unlock: after the surfaced ch2 moment.
Detective Jones: Aloha. Thanks for the help.
Detective Jones: Marin PD pulled Dylan out of Kyle Green's place an hour ago. He's fine. Confused, mostly.
Detective Jones: I owe you one. I was wrong about you. Don't make me say it again.
Aloha can ask:
- [rapport] "I'll take that as a permanent IOU."
- [probe] "What's Kyle saying?"
- [rapport] "Glad it worked out. I'm going back underwater."
Detective Jones: Sure. Enjoy the ocean. Try not to solve anything before you fly home.
Detective Jones: Cooperative. Bit too cooperative. Marin's holding him on a courtesy basis until paperwork clears. He's giving us the 'we just went hiking, what's the problem' line. Anyway — case is closed our end.
Detective Jones: Thanks, Aloha. Really.
Narration: You lower yourself back into the water and let the case slide off you.
Jones — Body in Marin c2s2_news_drops
Who's here: Detective Jones, Felix Vex. How to unlock: after the surfaced c2s2 moment.
Narration: You've got to be kidding me.
Detective Jones: Aloha. The case isn't over.
Detective Jones: I'm still up in Marin from the Reeves intake. Rolling toward a scene now.
Detective Jones: Body in the hills off Panoramic Highway. Tanaka pulled me on it.
Detective Jones: Felix Vex. Yeetly side of the hacker mansion.
Clue unlocked: felix revealed
Detective Jones: He was one of the six at the rave, you may remember.
Clue unlocked: Felix Vex Found Dead in Marin
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Cause of death?"
- [probe] "Who found him?"
- [probe] "Where in Marin, exactly?"
Detective Jones: TBD. Body's still on scene. I'll know more when I get there.
Detective Jones: Hiker. Called Marin Sheriff this morning. They ran the ID and called us in.
Detective Jones: Hills off Panoramic Highway, switchback above the Stinson cutoff. I'll have exact GPS the second I'm on scene.
Detective Jones: I'll be on scene in a few minutes. I'll text you photos, witness statements, whatever I can. Same arrangement — you stay in Hawaii, I'll be your eyes.
Detective Jones: Sorry about the snorkeling.
Narration: The line clicks off. The Pacific is doing its thing. You bite down on the snorkel and kick back out.

Dylan Reeves — First Statement c2s3_dylan_first
Who's here: Dylan Reeves, Detective Jones. How to unlock: after you finish Jones — Body in Marin; and after the paywall passed moment.
Narration: Jones patches you in. You hear a door close, a chair scrape, and a familiar voice — but younger, more tired.
Detective Jones: Dylan, Detective Aloha is on the line. He's the one who figured out you were in Marin. Can you walk us through the trip?
Dylan Reeves: I mean — sure? Hi. Sorry, I don't super get what the interview is. Kyle and I went up to his parents' place for a long weekend. Was I supposed to tell somebody?
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Whose idea was the trip?"
- [probe] "Walk me through how you got there."
- [probe] "How's Kyle been, lately?"
Dylan Reeves: Kyle's. Couple weeks ago. He said he was heading up for a reset and asked if I wanted to come. I hadn't taken a weekend in forever. Felt like the universe saying something. So I said yes.
Dylan Reeves: Driveyo. We left Tuesday evening, like seven-ish? Got up there around nine. Unpacked. Kyle made tea — he gets weird about this one tea — and I was out by ten.
Clue unlocked: Dylan's Version of the Trip
Dylan Reeves: Oh, Kyle ducked out for a shake at some point. Out-n-About down by the freeway. He's got a sweet tooth.
Dylan Reeves: I was already out cold. He told me at breakfast — said he went around eleven-thirty, gone an hour. Showed me the cup. I don't actually remember any of it, that's just what he said.
Clue unlocked: Kyle Left the House Tuesday Night
Dylan Reeves: Honestly? Good. We've been hanging out more. He's the only guy in the house who doesn't treat me like a mayor's-son punchline.
Dylan Reeves: We've been doing this best-burrito tour thing. I know it sounds dumb, but it's been like the most fun thing I've done in a year.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Wednesday — walk me through the whole day."
- [probe] "Did you know you were missing a charity gala?"
- [probe] "What drive-through is open at eleven-thirty at night?" · requires Kyle Left the House Tuesday Night
Dylan Reeves: Slept late. Like really late — noon? Hard to say why, I'm usually up at six. We hiked up toward East Peak around two. Came back.
Dylan Reeves: Kyle made dinner. We watched something dumb. Slept. Thursday was the same vibe but without the nap. It was nice, honestly. Quiet.
Dylan Reeves: Honestly? No. My mom's office RSVPs for me at every one of those things whether I say yes or no. I stopped checking what's on the calendar. Did people... did people actually notice?
Dylan Reeves: Oh. Oh no. Is this — did you guys think something happened to me? Is this why there are two detectives on the phone?
Detective Jones: We'll get into the full picture in a bit, Dylan. For now, keep walking us through the weekend.
Dylan Reeves: Uh. I don't know if they're open that late, honestly. I didn't check. I'm just telling you what Kyle told me. He had a shake at breakfast, so — I assumed.
Choose:
- [rapport] "Thanks, Dylan. Jones will take it from here."
Dylan Reeves: Okay. Cool. I mean — not cool, clearly. Tell my mom I'm fine. Please. Before she tells the press anything.
Narration: Dylan drops off the line. Jones stays.
Detective Jones: Before I let you go. Felix had a girlfriend.
Detective Jones: Indigo Rhys. Missing-person desk had her on a filing. I'll send her your way.
Narration: You stare at the ceiling fan for a minute. Dylan is a good kid. Somebody is going to have to tell him about Felix. You're glad it won't be you.
Clues from this scene: Dylan's Version of the Trip, Kyle Left the House Tuesday Night.
Indigo — Call c2s4_indigo_call
Who's here: Indigo Rhys. How to unlock: after you finish Dylan Reeves — First Statement.
Indigo Rhys: Detective Aloha. Indigo Rhys. Jones gave me your number.
Indigo Rhys: Felix is dead in Marin. He doesn't go to Marin.
Indigo Rhys: He had a set Tuesday at the warehouse. After that, nothing that sounded like him.
Indigo Rhys: Now they're calling me from a hiking trail.
Indigo Rhys: Whatever this is supposed to be, it isn't what happened.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Start wherever. How had Felix been?"
- [probe] "When did you last hear from him?"
- [probe] "Start with Kyle."
- [probe] "Walk me through the rave."
Indigo Rhys: Off, the last three weeks. Not about us. About the house.
Indigo Rhys: Said Kyle had been 'in his business' — Felix's words, not mine. I pushed on it. He couldn't get specific.
Indigo Rhys: Just said Kyle always seemed to know when Felix's schedule changed. Like before Felix knew.
Indigo Rhys: Something else, too. He'd been talking about walking away from Yeetly. We'd been fighting about it for two weeks. I thought he was just panicking about Yeetly going under.
Clue unlocked: Felix Wanted Out of Yeetly
Indigo Rhys: Kyle watched people. Not in a creep way, or — fine, in a creep way but also in a cataloging way.
Clue unlocked: Kyle Watched the House
Indigo Rhys: He knew when Bodhi did ice baths, when Hex ordered DoorDash, when Felix was at the studio. He'd ask 'vibes' questions that were secretly schedules.
Indigo Rhys: I noticed because I do ops. That's what recon looks like.
Indigo Rhys: Felix wanted to be there at six to test the PA. I got there at seven. Six Yeetly people RSVPed. Four showed by nine.
Indigo Rhys: Kyle did not come. Not at nine, not at ten, not at midnight. I was on the door — I would have seen him.
Clue unlocked: Kyle Never Arrived at the Rave
Indigo Rhys: Tuesday. 11:14pm. A text from his phone.
Clue unlocked: Text from Felix's Phone, Tuesday 11:14pm
Indigo Rhys: Said he was crashing at the HH for a couple days. Yeetly legal stuff.
Indigo Rhys: He called me baby. He never calls me baby. I told him on date three I'd dump him if he ever did. Two years, he never did.
Clue unlocked: Indigo Knows Felix
Indigo Rhys: I told myself he was stressed. He'd been at mine most nights — sometimes he wants headphones-on time at the house. So 'a couple days at the HH' wasn't unusual. I let it slide.
Indigo Rhys: I sat on it for twenty-four hours. I knew Tuesday night. I told myself I was being the girlfriend who needs to chill. I'm not going to forgive myself for those twenty-four hours.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Anything else strange that night?"
- [probe] "When did you know something was wrong?"
- [deduction] "About the house. Was it Kyle he wanted to walk away from?" · requires Felix Wanted Out of Yeetly
- [deduction] "It's Kyle. You know it's Kyle." · WRONG — drains 10% battery
- [probe] "Why Felix specifically?"
- [rapport] "Hang in there. I'll be in touch."
Indigo Rhys: Wednesday morning. He always texts when he wakes up, even on three hours of sleep. Nothing real since the Tuesday text.
Indigo Rhys: Called him for an hour. Called the house. Pippa hadn't seen him. I called your non-emergency line at nine. They told me to wait twenty-four.
Indigo Rhys: Called again Wednesday night. Different desk, same shrug. Thursday morning a sergeant asked me what time the rave ended. I asked him what year it was.
Indigo Rhys: Mayor's son was missing the same days. Half your department was on that. Mine was a girlfriend with a feeling. So.
Indigo Rhys: Felix was texting me through set. Last text at 9:47 — 'the drum monitor keeps cutting, need to replace.' That's not someone spiraling. That's someone fixing a drum monitor.
Indigo Rhys: I believe it's Kyle. I can't prove it's Kyle. And I've watched enough of these cases to know the difference. You move too fast with a theory, you miss the thing that actually sticks.
Indigo Rhys: Two things he gave me. Kyle in his business. No specifics. Wanting to walk away from Yeetly. I treated them like separate problems. Now I'm not sure they were.
Clue unlocked: felix walkaway kyle link
Indigo Rhys: That's the part I can't answer. Felix wasn't a threat to him. They weren't in each other's way. Unless Felix noticed something. Felix noticed everything.
Indigo Rhys: Call me if you need anything else. I'll be up. I'm not sleeping.
Clue unlocked: indigo call complete
Narration: You dial Indigo back. She picks up before the second ring.
Indigo Rhys: You've got something.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Tox came back weird. Felix had something in him Felix wouldn't have taken." · requires Tox Report
- [rapport] "Just checking in."
Indigo Rhys: So someone gave it to him. He's not a sneaker. He'd refuse a THC gummy from a friend on a Tuesday. Someone spiked him. That's a different crime.

Indigo Rhys: Keep me posted.

Pippa — Follow-up c2s5_pippa_followup
Who's here: Pippa Orlando-Vance. How to unlock: when you find the Kyle Watched the House clue.
Narration: You dial Pippa. The phone is answered before it finishes the first ring.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Detective. I have been waiting for someone to ask about Kyle.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: I'm pulling up the thread. I'm sharing my screen — wait. Phone call. Fine. I will narrate. But I want you to know I already screenshotted everything and color-coded it.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Has Kyle ever asked you about anyone's schedule?"
- [probe] "Pull up your messages with Kyle."
- [probe] "Walk me through what you logged about Kyle the day of the rave."
- [probe] "Walk me through Felix's timeline that day."
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Felix. 5:40pm equipment load-out. 6:12pm SUV to Dogpatch. 6:58pm arrival at the warehouse per the group chat photo. 9:00pm set start per the flyer. 10:17pm last seen at the rave.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: He was on-schedule, on-task, on-tone all day. He was also, for what it's worth, the most functional human I lived with.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Constantly. He framed it like he was being thoughtful — 'when's Bodhi doing his ice bath, I don't want to interrupt his flow.' That is not a flow question. That is a presence question.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: I logged six of those in the last two months. From Kyle. About six different people. He was running a passive census and I was the census bureau.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Opening Kyle's thread now. Reverse chronological. Mostly emoji reactions and one 'thx' from October.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: But here. Three weeks ago. A Tuesday. 2:47 PM. He sent me an actual question. Detective, I am quoting verbatim.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Kyle was around the house all afternoon and not packing. I noted that at the time because everyone else going to the rave was clearly assembling outfits.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: And he was on his phone. Not scrolling. Glancing. Like he was checking against something. I logged it as 'Kyle, agitated, 4:30 PM' and moved on. I should not have moved on.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Three weeks before the rave, Kyle texted me. 'hey when does Felix actually go on tonight wait the rave isn't tonight is it. don't wanna miss the drop.'
Clue unlocked: Kyle Asked Pippa About Felix's Set
Pippa Orlando-Vance: I answered him. Because I answer questions. 9:00 PM start, 75-minute set. He came back two minutes later: 'exact time tho? trying to time my entrance lol.' I told him 9:00 sharp, encore around 10:15.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: He RSVPed yes, then ghosted my confirmation. He never went to the rave. But he had Felix's stage time pinned to a fifteen-minute window. And Felix is dead. I am leaving that there, detective.
Aloha can ask:
- [deduction] "He was building a window for a handoff at the booth."
- [deduction] "Maybe Kyle just really liked Felix's music." · WRONG — drains 10% battery
- [presentEvidence] "Indigo says Kyle was never at the rave. Not at any point." · requires Kyle Never Arrived at the Rave · presents Kyle Never Arrived at the Rave
- [rapport] "Thanks, Pippa. That's what I needed."
Pippa Orlando-Vance: That is the shape of it, detective. Yellow fill, red border. If you have a theory, my data will fit it.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Detective. He RSVPed yes and then never opened my confirmation. He did not show up. Liking the music does not require pulling an encore time off the schedule-keeper three weeks in advance. That is not how fans operate.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: Then I am not looking at a rave fan with bad RSVP etiquette. I am looking at a person who pulled a stage time from me three weeks before the rave and was nowhere near the stage. Indigo's account fits my thread, detective. Cleanly.
Pippa Orlando-Vance: I'm forwarding the screenshots to your inbox. With timestamps. And put my name in the report. With the correct hyphen in Orlando-Vance.
Narration: The line clicks off. The forwarded thread arrives in your inbox approximately seven seconds later, attached as a PDF with a cover sheet.

Mara Della — Yeetly c2s7_mara
Who's here: Mara Della. How to unlock: after you finish Indigo — Call.
Narration: Jones patches you in. A new voice — quiet, measured.
Mara Della: Aloha. Mara. Jones says you want to hear about the rave. I'll tell you what I saw. Ask.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Walk me through Felix's set."
- [probe] "Was Kyle expected at the rave?"
- [probe] "Anything about the night stand out?"
Mara Della: On stage at nine. Warmed up for twenty minutes. First real drop at 9:35. He had a water bottle — aluminum, I teased him about it earlier because it was ugly. He drank from it between every track.
Mara Della: Around 10:15 someone reached over the side of the booth and handed him a can. Not the bottle. A can. Felix took a sip, made a face, kept going.
Clue unlocked: Drink Handoff at the DJ Booth
Mara Della: Supposed to be. RSVPed. Didn't show. Indigo was on the door — she would've noticed. I was near the booth all night and didn't see him either. For what that's worth.
Mara Della: The drink. Someone handed Felix a can mid-set. Hoodie up, I couldn't see the face. Felix winced and kept going. I remembered it two hours ago.
Clue unlocked: Drink Handoff at the DJ Booth
Mara Della: 100%. I took a selfie with him a minute before someone reached over the booth. Timestamp says 10:14pm.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "10:15. How confident are you in that time?" · requires Drink Handoff at the DJ Booth
- [deduction] "Kyle wears a hoodie like that." · WRONG — drains 10% battery
- [probe] "Could anyone reach the booth, or was it roped off?"
- [rapport] "Thanks. I'll come back if I need anything else."
Mara Della: Kyle wears a hoodie. So does half the city. So did the barback that night. I am not going to identify someone by a hoodie. You don't get to use me to confirm the thing you already want.
Mara Della: Left side was roped. Right side was accessible — we had a cooler there for Felix and the opener. Anyone close to the stage could reach over. Maybe fifty people total in that zone across the night.
Mara Della: Call if something shakes loose. I'll remember more. I always do, eventually.

Reeve Kwak — Yeetly c2s8_reeve
Who's here: Reeve Kwak. How to unlock: after you finish Mara Della — Yeetly; and after the investigate mystery can delivered moment.
Narration: Another patch-in. You hear typing.
Reeve Kwak: Hello. Reeve. Go ahead.
Detective Aloha: Mara said you logged the night. Walk me through Tuesday.
Reeve Kwak: I was on-call. Brought my laptop. Set up at a high-top near the side exit. Heads-down most of the night.
Reeve Kwak: My phone timestamps everything for me. Chats, deploys, alerts. I correlate to what I remember.
Reeve Kwak: 9:02 a friend at the rave sent me a clip — set start. 9:37 another clip — first drop.
Reeve Kwak: 10:15 my hotfix went green in the prod channel. Heads-down for the next two minutes.
Reeve Kwak: 10:17 a coworker pinged me: 'we live?' That's when I looked up.
Reeve Kwak: Felix was walking past my high-top. With a guy in a Broke Water hoodie. They were mid-conversation, headed for the side exit. Together.
Clue unlocked: Felix's Last Sighting — 10:17pm Side Exit
Reeve Kwak: I read it as Felix getting air. He was always chatty post-set. I went back to my terminal.
Reeve Kwak: I'm putting this together right now. He never came back to the booth.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "10:15 — what exactly were you doing?"
- [probe] "Describe the guy in the Broke Water hoodie."
- [probe] "How long until you looked up again?"
- [rapport] "Thanks. That's what I needed."
Reeve Kwak: Heads-down at my terminal. Tailing deploy logs, watching the rollout graph. The booth was eight feet from me. I wasn't looking at it.
Reeve Kwak: Two seconds of side-eye. Late twenties, maybe. Tall. Black hoodie with the Broke Water wordmark in white. Stubble. Brown hair. Sorry, that's the limit of what I caught.
Reeve Kwak: Maybe ten minutes. The deploy went green, I unmuted the room. Set was wrapping. There were a lot of people. I didn't see Felix again.
Reeve Kwak: Okay. Bye.
Narration: The line drops abruptly.

Saffron Kim — Yeetly c2s9_saffron
Who's here: Saffron Kim. How to unlock: after you finish Reeve Kwak — Yeetly.
Narration: Another patch-in. This voice arrives at full volume.
Saffron Kim: Detective Aloha. Saffron Kim. Okay, first of all, I have been waiting to give someone this information, so buckle up. Also sorry in advance if I'm too much. Felix was my best friend in that house.
Detective Aloha: Go ahead. What is it?
Saffron Kim: Okay. So. 3pm Tuesday. I was at the house.
Saffron Kim: Kyle was out front in one of those Ye Olde Haulers stagecoach vans, wheeling a hand truck out the front door into the back. A VAN. Kyle drives a sports car.
Saffron Kim: I asked what he was doing, he said 'helping a friend move.' I said 'who?' He said 'you don't know them.' I said 'try me, I know everyone.' He said 'seriously, you don't.'
Clue unlocked: Cargo Van Rental
Saffron Kim: And then he laughed and drove off. I didn't think about it until I heard about Felix.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Walk me through the rave."
- [probe] "What was Felix and Kyle's dynamic?"
- [probe] "You've been theorizing. What's your theory?"
- [deduction] "It was Kyle. That's what this all is." · WRONG — drains 10% battery
- [rapport] "That's a lot. Thank you."
Saffron Kim: I got there for the set, stayed till close. Networking opportunity. Sue me.
Saffron Kim: I did NOT see Kyle. I was specifically watching for Kyle because he ghosted my confirmation text. I noticed.
Saffron Kim: Felix was the most genuine person in that house. Hosted everyone's birthdays. Remembered my sister's name after meeting her once. He and Indigo were the whole Yeetly glue — you took them out, you took the team out.
Saffron Kim: Felix and Kyle, though. That's where it gets weird. Felix was the only person Kyle ever pushed back at. And Felix pushed back harder.
Saffron Kim: I watched them not-argue about something in the kitchen two weeks ago and I swear Felix's jaw was set like he was deciding whether to say something bigger.
Saffron Kim: Okay so. Option A: Kyle is the killer and framing Dylan, which is obvious but also I can't stop thinking about it.
Saffron Kim: Option B: Kyle is covering for someone ELSE and the frame is on Dylan either way.
Saffron Kim: Option C: there was a third party at the rave no one has placed yet. I don't love Option C, I just like to keep it on the board.
Saffron Kim: Detective, I know. I know. But I've watched enough of this to say — don't say it out loud yet.
Saffron Kim: You need the van. You need what's in the van. 'It was Kyle' without that is just me and you sharing a bad feeling.
Saffron Kim: Put me to work. Find who did this to Felix.

Dylan Reeves — Second Statement c2s10_dylan_second
Who's here: Dylan Reeves, Detective Jones. How to unlock: after you finish Saffron Kim — Yeetly.
Dylan Reeves: Hi. Detective Aloha. Uh. So they told me about Felix. I don't — I've been going through the weekend in my head and things keep popping up. Can I just tell you stuff and you decide what matters?
Detective Jones: That's the best thing you can do right now. Go ahead.
Choose:
- [rapport] "Start wherever."
- [probe] "Anything you didn't register at the time."
Dylan Reeves: Okay. So. The tea. The 'one tea' I told you about yesterday. Kyle made me that Tuesday night and I was out for fourteen hours.
Dylan Reeves: I told you that yesterday like it was nothing. I'm telling you now thinking everything of it. I'm a six-hour guy. My whole life.
Clue unlocked: Dylan's Tea
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Anything specific about how Kyle made the tea?"
- [probe] "How was Kyle, specifically?"
- [rapport] "That's enough. Jones will follow up."
Dylan Reeves: He had it ready before I asked. Like he'd been waiting to make it for me specifically.
Dylan Reeves: He stood over me while I drank it. He said 'finish it, I made it for you.' At the time it felt like care. Now it feels like supervision.
Dylan Reeves: I don't remember anything after the last sip. I woke up at noon with the empty cup still on the nightstand.
Dylan Reeves: Kyle was on his phone a lot on the drive up. Like, checking it every five minutes. I thought he was texting someone. He kept holding it where I couldn't see.
Dylan Reeves: Then at the house he left it on the counter screen-down all weekend. Which is — that's not Kyle, normally.
Dylan Reeves: I'm sorry. I should've noticed. I was just — I was just glad someone was spending time with me.
Clues from this scene: Dylan's Tea.
Aloha — What We Have c2s11_closing
Who's here: Chief Tanaka, Detective Jones. How to unlock: after you finish Dylan Reeves — Second Statement.
Narration: Tanaka calls. Jones is patched in from Marin, somewhere with wind.
Chief Tanaka: Aloha. Jones and I are both on. Lay it out in order. Start with whether this is even a homicide.
Chief Tanaka: Felix Vex OD'd at a rave. Marin found the body. Why is this on our desk?

Chief Tanaka: Fentanyl-class at lethal contact. Borderline suspicious, but someone with tolerance can find their way to that dose too. Give me more.
Detective Jones: Five years clean. Everyone who knew Felix says the same thing. Whatever hit his system that night wasn't a relapse. It was given to him.
Chief Tanaka: Motive's a who, Aloha. I asked whether this is even a crime. Start with the body. Was he killed at all? Beneficiaries come after we have a homicide.
Chief Tanaka: I asked you why this is a homicide. Not who did it. Start with the body. We'll get to the suspect later.
Chief Tanaka: Sober victim, procurement-grade dose. Someone gave it to him. Walk me through the rave.

Chief Tanaka: A hoodie at a rave. On its own I could get you fifty. But it pins the moment. Can from the booth side, 10:15. That's a delivery, not a friend handing him a drink.
Detective Jones: He didn't collapse on stage. Walked out with the same kind of guy who handed him the can, and nobody clocked it because Felix was friendly with everyone. Textbook quiet extraction.
Detective Jones: Whoever moved him had him for half a day. That's a window where someone made decisions about a body. Not panic. Process.
Chief Tanaka: Save the van for when I ask for physical. Right now I want the death, not the cleanup. What happened to Felix at the rave?
Chief Tanaka: Two handlers, then. One at the rave, one with the body. So what stands out to you about Kyle?

Chief Tanaka: Pulling roommate schedules without anyone clocking him is reconnaissance. The same skill set you'd want for a quiet extraction. Keep going.
Chief Tanaka: An absence is an alibi gap, not a profile. Plenty of people weren't at that rave. Give me something that points at Kyle. The way he thinks, not where he wasn't.
Chief Tanaka: Sedation is cover-up after the fact. I want the pre-meditation first. Who Kyle is before the rave, not how he scrubbed it after.

Chief Tanaka: Pippa's the receipts. They make Kyle interesting. They do not move a body. Physical, Aloha. Something I can subpoena.

Detective Jones: An eleven-thirty 'strawberry shake' alibi nobody else can place him at. Alvarez's twelve-hour post-mortem transport puts the dump-site drop early Wednesday. That's our transport window.

Pull Marin property records
On clue: Kyle's Background (found in The Heir) Requires: Kyle Never Confirmed at Rave. Delivery: 5–7 minutes (real time).
What happens:
Detective Aloha: Chief — favor. Pull Marin County property records for the Green family. Kyle's parents.
Detective Aloha: All I have is the county. They own a place up there. Need the address.
Chief Tanaka: Marin. Great. Five minutes — clerk owes me one. I'll text when it's in.
Chief Tanaka: Got it. Roald and Marina Green. 9999 Panoramic Highway.
Chief Tanaka: Wood-and-glass thing, half a hill, no neighbors. If they went anywhere, they went there.
Clue unlocked: Green Family Address
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Got it. Thanks, Chief." · requires pull marin property delivered
Narration: Marin. Off Panoramic Highway.
Subpoena Driveyo records
On clue: Self-Driving Car Pickup (found in The Coder) Requires: Self-Driving Car Pickup, Green Family Address. Delivery: 6–8 minutes (real time).
What happens:
Detective Aloha: Chief. Driveyo records, night Dylan went missing. Hex saw a self-driving car pull up at the house around 8pm.
Detective Aloha: If the log terminates at the Marin address you pulled, that puts Dylan there. Kyle's own car never moved.
Chief Tanaka: Driveyo's legal will move when I email them. Give me five minutes. I'll ping you when it lands.
Narration: Tanaka clicks off. Five minutes.
Chief Tanaka: Got the log. One booking, two passengers. Pickup 7:48pm at the house.
Chief Tanaka: Direct across the Golden Gate. No stops. Terminus matches the address county records gave you. 9999 Panoramic.
Chief Tanaka: Arrives 9:00pm. Both passengers ride all the way in. That trip ended at the Greens.

Order Marin PD wellness check

Chief Tanaka: Thanks for the help, Aloha. Enjoy your vacation.
Narration: You set the phone down. Outside, the Pacific keeps doing its blue thing.
Investigate the can
On clue: Drink Handoff at the DJ Booth (found in Mara Della — Yeetly) Delivery: instant.
What happens:
Detective Aloha: Indie — quick one. A witness saw someone hand Felix a can at the booth around 10:15. Hoodie, no face. Felix sipped it.
Detective Aloha: Anything getting passed around the rave that wouldn't have looked weird coming over the booth?
Indigo Rhys: Oh god. The broke water guys.
Indigo Rhys: DTC beverage startup. They were sampling all night. Annoying AF.
Indigo Rhys: Pitched as a tonic, not a soda. Herbal, low-sugar, wellness angle.
Indigo Rhys: That's the only reason Felix would have tried it. He wouldn't touch a regular soda.
Indigo Rhys: Raised a seed round before they had a finished product. Classic.
Indigo Rhys: Brokely CS kids riding a trend. I tried to dig into the funding once — investor of record is literally '[REDACTED] & [REDACTED] LLP.' Not a joke. That's the name on the filing.
Indigo Rhys: If someone wanted to put something in Felix's hand at a booth, that was the cleanest cover in the room.
Indigo Rhys: Free sample. Sober-friendly. Nobody looks twice.
Detective Aloha: That's the piece I was missing. Thanks, Indie.
Search rental records
On clue: Cargo Van Rental (found in Saffron Kim — Yeetly) Delivery: 4–6 minutes (real time).
What happens:
Detective Aloha: Chief — subpoena Ye Olde Haulers. The stagecoach moving outfit. Any rental tied to Kyle Green, this Tuesday.
Detective Aloha: Pickup time, return time, name on the contract. Whatever they have.
Chief Tanaka: Stagecoach company. Cute. It'll be a few minutes. I'll text you when it's ready.
Chief Tanaka: Hit. Name on the contract is Kyle Green himself. No cosigner. No friend.
Chief Tanaka: Pickup Tuesday, one forty-seven PM. After-hours dropbox return — yard processed it Thursday morning. Held it for nearly two days.
Chief Tanaka: If he was helping a friend move, it took him almost two days. That's a lot of friend.
Clue unlocked: kyle van self rented
Chief Tanaka: One more thing. Yard called me an hour ago. Van came back with a hand truck still in the bed — the one Saffron clocked him loading at 3pm. Marin Sheriff is dusting it. If it has Felix on it, your case stops being circumstantial.
Aloha can ask:
- [probe] "Got it. Thanks, Chief." · requires pull haulers records delivered
Request prelim from Marin
On clue: Felix Vex Found Dead in Marin (found in Jones — Body in Marin) Requires: indigo call complete. Delivery: when Pippa — Follow-up completes.
What happens:
Detective Aloha: Deputy Alvarez. Detective Aloha, SFPD. I need the prelim on Felix Vex when you've got it.
Deputy Alvarez: On scene now, Detective. Lab's running it. I'll text the moment it's in.
Deputy Alvarez: Detective — hold on. Prelim just came back from the lab. Let me double-check this form.
Deputy Alvarez: Okay. Got it. Tox and a scene observation. Which one first?
Choose:
- [probe] "Start with the tox."
- [probe] "Start with the scene."
Deputy Alvarez: Fentanyl positive. Concentration in the lethal range. Enough to kill him on contact.
Clue unlocked: Tox Report
Deputy Alvarez: Body was found face-up on a switchback off Panoramic. Hiker called it in. But forensics tell me he was face-down somewhere for at least eight to twelve hours after death, then placed face-up at the dump. One observation, both facts: he was moved, and there's a long gap between death and dump.
Clue unlocked: Body — Positioning Discrepancy
Deputy Alvarez: Also no drag marks and no blood trail near the body. He was carried in and placed. Whoever did this had him somewhere between death and disposal.
Choose:
- [probe] "What about the scene?"
Choose:

Deputy Alvarez: I'm sending the prelim and the scene photos to Jones now. Good to have you on this, Detective. Stay by the phone.
